Well after 8 months experience in my new role I can only say that generally work is far more pleasurable than my previous employment. There is a 'civilised air' about the office and no real evidence of a fear culture. What is also encouraging is that employees actually retire from here having given long (40plus years) of service - contrast this with my last job where I witnessed feuds , dismisals, a nervous breakdown, and the turnover of an entire sales team in 6 months.
